Dell OEM

Dell OEM is ready for International Broadcast Conference (IBC)

As the media and entertainment sector prepares to exhibit its wares at the International Broadcast Conference (IBC) from 8 – 13 September, I reflect on how this sector is quite simply one of the early adopters of leading edge technology whether it’s broadcast, big picture, TV, film, IPTV, or radio.
Planning my 5th annual attendance at IBC in Amsterdam I look forward to meeting and learning from companies that make this industry so dynamic.  Our customers use Dell’s hardware and services capabilities from content creation, ingestion, rendering, and media storage.
The connection between open standard based IT technology and how it is becoming pivotal for the success and growth of the medium is clear. Two trends that stand out for this sector are:
  • Changing landscape of technology. Within the media and entertainment sector the ever changing landscape increasingly places greater demand on the ‘know how’ and expertise to adopt and harness the virtual world and be more available and accessible across any medium or device.
  • Access to broadcast is no longer fixed to TV.  Broadcast also includes mobile and the developing use of the cloud.
Dell OEM has followed these trends and continues to develop and invests in long term technologies and vertical solutions such as end user products, servers, storage to Cloud based solutions; companies to meet the OEM needs in the media and entertainment sector. Dell OEM is uniquely placed to offer an open solution stack consisting of a complete portfolio of product, but also an ecosystem of software and customised services. Software development, Cloud based solutions and services, underpinned by a company offering global support.
Dell OEM allows companies to now make use of our solution stack of options starting with re-branded (Workstations, Servers and storage), as well as outsourced supply chain management logistics to hosting in the cloud. Dell OEM’s consistency through its product portfolio, e.g. XL platforms and global support, allows Broadcasters to drive efficiency in their business, letting them do what they do best, broadcast.
