Architecture

Architecture,

What do The Empire State Building and the homes and buildings in your neighborhood have in common? One answer is that most of the buildings and homes were designed by an architect just like the famous building in New York and so many others. Architecture is a classic combination of art and science. It requires both the imagination necessary to dream up designs of all kinds and the technical knowledge required to transform those designs into actual buildings and structures. And those designs can span every imaginable size and style. Architecture focuses on the meeting of form and function. The structures should be in the most appropriate form for the location and it is also typically being built for a stated purpose. It may be a home to live in; an office building to work in; or something designed and built to be enjoyed and admired. For thousands of years all of these needs have served as the foundation for architecture.
